DAYTON, Ohio —

Police in Dayton said an argument in an apartment complex parking lot turned into gunfire between two groups of people.

The incident happened overnight at an apartment complex near Germantown and Liscum Driver in Dayton. Police said before the bullets stopped flying, two people were grazed and whole bunch of people looking at damage to their cars and homes.

Police said they started getting calls about a violent incident taking place, but everyone had cleared out before officers arrived at the scene, so no one can tell them much about what happened.

Investigators said gunfire criss-crossed the driveway and parking lots. They said shots even pierced their way into at least three apartments.

Officers said no one was seriously injured in the gunfire. They said one person suffered a minor injury when a piece of shrapnel struck her on the back.

Police said bullets hit one apartment and crashed through a bedroom window where 9- and 6-year-old children were sleeping. They said the bullets missed both of the children.

Investigators said they got a number of calls about people yelling in the parking lot and then reported hearing shots fired.

Authorities believe there were two groups of people involved. They said one group may have formed inside the complex and the other group drove to the complex.

Officers said they found a lot of .9 mm shell casings. At this time, technicians think between 10 and 50 shots were fired.

Police made no arrests, but said if you have any information about the shootings, contact Dayton police at 333-COPS.
