Indiana Offers Health Insurance Plan For Uninsured

Nearly 4,500 Hoosiers have signed up for a new state program to provide health insurance for low-income residents who have no coverage.

The state began processing applications for the Healthy Indiana Plan last week, and the program will go into effect on Jan. 1.

Officials hope to sign up 50,000 uninsured low-income people over the next year, and eventually cover 130,000 people.
