DAYTON, Ohio —

It has been four months since WHIO-TV started the Move It To Lose It Campaign.

The goal of the campaign is for residents of the Miami Valley to lose 6,000 pounds in six months, and right now a total of more than 4,000 pounds has been lost.

There is one man who is a businessman in the Miami Valley and he has been working hard to reach his own personal goal.

Long hours at McGohan Brabender and not long walks were something that 37-year-old Dave Homan made his routine for too many years.

Homan said, “I have the disease to please and at the end of the day I was too tired to take care of myself.”

Homan said after years of not taking care of himself, he decided he was tired of being tired all the time, and he knew he had to make some drastic changes.

He said if he knew if he didn’t change his lifestyle, he wouldn’t be around to see his kids grow up.

Homan said, “I can’t continue this way. At this weight I am not being a good husband or co-worker.”

Once tipping the scales at 370 pounds, Homan has lost 91 pounds and nine inches. He keeps a pair of pants that he used to wear as a reminder of his 7 month journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Although many of the employees at McGohan Brabender prefer to exercise indoors, Homan prefers to Move It outside. He said he gets up every morning at 5 a.m. and begin to exercise.

Homan said he plans to lose another 40 pounds.
