House suffers heavy damage in Middletown fire

Middletown firefighters are investigating an early Wednesday morning fire on Winona Drive.

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio —

Authorities said flames caused heavy damage to a house early Wednesday morning at 2040 Winona Drive.

Deputy Fire Chief Brent Dominy said firefighters were called to the scene around 1:22 a.m. and found the building engulfed in flames.

Dominy said no one was home when the fire broke out, but there were two German Shepherds inside. He said one may have survived the fire.

He said the building is a total loss, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
