MIAMI VALLEY —

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are moving through parts of the Miami Valley Thursday morning, bringing dangerous lightning and pea-sized hail to some areas.

Early Thursday morning the National Weather Service issued a thunderstorm warning for several counties that lasted until around 2 a.m.

There were limbs and trees reported down in Oakwood. A tree blocked Far Hills Avenue overnight in front of the Oakwood Library.

Branches and limbs were also reported down on Hathaway Road, Shafor Boulevard, and Ivanhoe Avenue.

Lights were reported out at Far Hills Avenue and Dorothy Lane. There were reports of hail in Bellbrook, local officials said.

There were also numerous reports of limbs and branches down in Warren County.

As of 7 a.m. Thursday, Dayton Power and Light reported that more than 314 customers are without power in Montgomery County. Greene County has 537 customers without power and more than 100 customers are without power in Clinton County.

Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Erica Collura said that there could be more scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area, especially Thursday afternoon and evening. She said some of those could be severe. High Thursday will be 86.

Showers and thunderstorms, she said, are still a possibility for Friday morning. It will be much cooler with a high of 73.
