Hung jury in Fairborn child rape case

FAIRBORN —

A jury in Greene County was unable to reach a verdict Tuesday in the case of a 19-year-old man accused of raping a child.

Carlos M. Young was released from the Greene County Jail after a jury’s announcement in Common Pleas Judge Stephen A. Wolaver’s courtroom.

The prosecutor’s office charged Young with rape as a result of an investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted a child in April.

Fairborn police said the child was younger than school age and that the allegations surfaced after the child was taken to a hospital.

Investigators did not release any other details about the case.
