I-75 project to close Dayton street until 2017

By Breaking News Staff

DAYTON —

Robert Drive is scheduled to be closed for the next five years as a state contractor reconstructs Interstate 75 through downtown Dayton, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.

The closure will be in effect between Fifth and Third streets starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, according to ODOT.

The section of roadway is not scheduled to reopen until September 2017.

Southbound motorists will be detoured using Perry Street to Fourth Street, while northbound traffic will use South Fifth Street to Wilkinson Street.

This work is part of the final phase of the ongoing project to reconfigure the interstate through the downtown area.
