DAYTON —

Southbound I-75 was shut down at Stanley Avenue Sunday night for several hours after a semi jackknifed at Stanley Avenue.

The highway closed southbound from 9:47 p.m. until about 1:31 a.m. Monday.

Dayton District Fire Chief Peter Whitby said about 150 gallons of diesel fuel leaked from the truck after the accident.

He added that the driver suffered minor injuries, and was taken to a hospital.

Whitby said the combination of rain and diesel fuel made for a real mess. He said once the truck was removed, the highway would have to be sanded and then cleaned before it could reopen.

No word yet whether the driver will face charges.

The accident remains under investigation.
