Injured German Twp. officer returns to work

GERMAN TWP., Ohio —

It's taken months to recover, but German Township Police officer Jeremy Blum is finally back to work. He was wounded during the Enon Beach shooting in January that killed Clark County Deputy Suzanne Hopper.

Blum will be spending his first few shifts with his supervisors to ease him back in.

Blum has had a 10 month journey to get back to work. He spent four months after the shooting visiting doctors before having surgery in May to repair nerve damage. From May to September, Blum was recovering and undergoing several rounds of physical therapy.

"It's a good feeling to be back at work, back doing something that I love. I'm excited to get back to doing my job," said Ofc. Blum.

It was New Year's day this year that police and deputies engaged in a volley of gunfire with Michael Ferryman at Enon Beach Mobile Home Park. Ferryman was killed in the exhange after he had shot and killed Deputy Hopper. Officer Blum was also hit in the arm during the fire fight with Ferryman.
