Lawmen Raid 5 Homes In Miami, Shelby Counties

SIDNEY, Ohio —

The “largest cooperative multi agency search warrant operation in the history of the Shelby County law enforcement community” was executed Thursday afternoon, according to a press release.

Shortly after a 12 noon briefing at the Sidney Police Department, approximately 55 law enforcement officers from SNARE, Sidney Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Piqua Police Department, Anna Police Department, Jackson Center Police Department, & Botkins Police Department simultaneously executed five narcotics search warrants throughout Sidney Anna, and Piqua providing a major punch to a suspected drug enterprise believed to be providing illegal narcotics in Shelby, Miami, Mercer, and Auglaize counties, the release stated.

Confiscated during the searches were illegal narcotics consisting of marijuana and LSD, records documenting acts of trafficking in drugs, over $5,000 in cash, five vehicles, nine firearms, electronic equipment, jewelry, and clothing, according to police.

Evidence collected from the searches will be processed and examined by investigators and later reviewed with the Shelby County prosecutor for possible charges. Several individuals may be facing charges ranging from felony drug possession, felony drug trafficking, and felony engaging in acts of corrupt activity.

These warrants were possible due to citizens willing to get involved.
