Bush Delivers Rousing Speech At Hara Arena

TROTWOOD, Ohio —

President George W. Bush continued his campaign swing through Ohio Thursday with a rally at Hara Arena in Trotwood.

Bush arrived at Dayton International Airport around 11:30 a.m. and then proceeded to move to Hara Arena in his presidential motorcade. The president entered the arena with more than 5,000 Republican supporters greeting him with great enthusiasm.

The president was introduced by the mayor of Youngstown, Oh., where he campaign on Wednesday. The mayor of Youngstown, who is Democratic, gave a rousing introduction of the man he said he endorses.

Bush started by thanking all local Republican office-holders, including Rep. Mike Turner, Rep. John Boehner, Sen. George Voinovich and Sen. Mike Dewine.

The president proceeded by saying that the United States has an economy with great challenges and opportunities. He said he wants to continue what he started four years ago. He also said homeownership is also at an all-time high, which happened under his administration.

Bush continued by mentioning that he wants to strengthen Social Security for future generations. He said he is ready for the job.

Bush moved on to the subject of America’s priorities. He said the U.S. needs a president who has crystal clear plans and priorities. Bush said his challenger, Sen. John Kerry, does not have a clear plan and has taken many positions, but has never taken a stand on the positions.

The president said Kerry is willing to say whatever he needs to that will help him politically. Bush said he will do whatever it takes to defend America.

Bush moved on to the topic of health care. He said Kerry wants the government to take over control of health care systems. The president said federal control of health care is the wrong prescription for families.

The president ended his speech by saying he has a lot of work to do and wants to be elected by into the White House, so he can finish what he started.
