Local injured in Missouri boating accident

CAMDEN CO., Mo. —

A Dayton man was seriously injured after a boating accident in Missouri Wednesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Eric H. Ackerman, 48, of Dayton was driving a pontoon-style boat upstream on the Lake of the Ozarks and went airborne from his seat on the bow after crossing a large wake.

Ackerman was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis in serious condition by a medical helicopter, according to the MHP report. He was not wearing a safety device, the report said.
