PIQUA, Ohio —

Twelve people were displaced Friday night when fire in a four-unit apartment building left one unit gutted by flames and another heavily damaged by smoke.

No one was injured at 108 Parkridge Place. Firefighters were dispatched to that address at about 8:16 p.m. on a report of a structure fire, according to Assistant Fire Chief Mike Peltier.

While the cause of the fire remained under investigation, Peltier said investigators are looking in the area of the furnance room for the possible cause.

There were no injuries.

The displaced residents are being helped by the Nothern Miami Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.
