18-year-old still at large after Monday police chase

Staff Report

The Warren County Drug Task Force is still searching for an 18-year-old Centerville man who eluded arrest Monday afternoon after a pursuit that ended in a crash and the arrests of two other young men.

Authorities are searching for Keith Tabron, 18, of Centerville. Task Force Cmdr. John Burke said Tabron already has a warrant on file and authorities are planning to file a drug trafficking warrant on him this afternoon.

Burke said on Wednesday morning that investigators have talked to “several” acquaintances of Tabron’s.

“You begin to press upon them that it’s in his best interest for him to turn himself in,” Burke said.

The teen was in a car with two other suspects who sped away from a drug buy with undercover police officers involving a pound of marijuana, Burke said.

The pursuit started on Ohio 741 in Miami Twp. just after 3:30 p.m. on Monday, when police attempted to take down the suspects, Burke said. Two of the suspects were arrested following the crash that ended the approximately three-mile pursuit.

Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, police from Miami Twp. and troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol were involved. All of them responded to the crash at West Spring Valley Pike and Lago Mar Road.

All three suspects were said to be local residents.

“Quite a bit of money was involved,” Burke said, adding that the marijuana was purchased for $3,200.

Anyone with any information about Tabron is asked to call the task force at (513) 336-0070.
