DAYTON —

Two drivers were taken to Miami Valley Hospital early Thursday morning after a two vehicle crash on Needmore Road a little after midnight, according to Riverside Police.

A small sport utility vehicle was traveling eastbound on Needmore Road, just west of Old Troy Pike, when the SUV went left of center striking a sedan traveling westbound, said Sgt. Adam Colon of Riverside Police.

Both vehicles had single occupants. The driver of the sedan had to be extricated by Riverside medics. Drivers were taken to Miami Valley Hospital, said Colon.

According to Riverside Police scanner traffic, one driver was said to have serious injuries.

It is undetermined why the crash occurred but Colon said the roads are wet and slick.

Dayton Police are investigating because the accident happened within the Dayton city limits. Riverside Police and medics assisted with the accident.
