WEST MILTON —
A man remains in the hospital after he was involved in a near head-on crash on South Miami Street Tuesday night.
Matthew Allen McCabe, 21, of Union, is listed in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital. McCabe was flown to the hospital by CareFlight medical helicopter after he was extricated from a vehicle around 7:15 p.m.
West Milton police Sgt. Garry Kimpel said for an unknown reason McCabe went left of center and struck a southbound vehicle.
Both drivers had to be extricated from the wreckage. The other driver was not seriously injured, according to police.
McCabe was driving a red Chevrolet Lumina sedan south on the roadway that is also called Ohio 48. He crossed the center line and sideswiped an oncoming car at about 7:15 p.m., West Milton Sgt. Tracey Hendricks said.
Kimpel said the crash remains under investigation.
