Staff Report

RIVERSIDE, Ohio —

A Montgomery County grand jury indicted two men Friday in Riverside's first homicide in five years.

Richard "Chicago" Western, 21, of Clayton, and James "Blood" Dunson, 21, address unknown, are charged with murder and aggravated robbery. Western is also charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm as well as a probation violation involving a robbery.

According to Riverside police, Western was arrested June 28 by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team and confessed that he shot Geoffrey Andrews, 20, 4217 Amston Drive on June 15.

Authorities have linked Western to the Dayton area Black Gangster Disciples. Western, according to Riverside police, is accused of walking into the apartment at about 11:15 p.m. and firing a handgun several times.

"He and two other individuals took off in a car waiting in the area," Riverside police Chief Mark Reiss has said. Dunson and a third man, Aaron Baker, were the two individuals presumed to be in the car that was waiting.

Records show Dunson was also arrested June 28. Both men are expected to be in court July 10, according to county jail records.

A 17-year-old male from Riverside was arrested June 18. He admitted to participating in the crime and identified his co-defendants, police said.

Police said Andrews was a known marijuana dealer and that the suspects knew him. Andrews was with two other friends when he was shot.

Three shots were fired; one hit Andrews. He was pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital.
