KETTERING —
Two people were taken to a local hospital after a head-on crash Sunday on Marshall Road near near Lincoln Park Boulevard in Kettering.
The crash was reported at about 6 p.m.
Although rescue crews needed the jaws of life to rescue a victim from inside a van, no one’s injuries were considered life-threatening, according to authorities at the scene. A preliminary investigation indicated a car was north on Marshall Road when the driver lost control and hit the van traveling in the opposite direction.
Kettering police Lt. William Karolyi said the driver of the sports car smelled of alcohol and was uncooperative after the crash.
“We asked him if he had been drinking and he told us that was not relevant to the accident at this point,” Karolyi said. “He also adamantly admitted that he was not going to take any type of (field sobriety test). We’ll be heading to the hospital to follow up on that part of the investigation.”
Authorities will continue to look into the crash.
