DAYTON —

Police said two women were taken to a hospital after they were beaten by four men in a robbery attempt.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 3300 block of Hoover Avenue, according to a Dayton police incident report.

The victims, ages 48 and 47, told police they had just gotten off a bus on Hoover at Walton avenues when they were approached by four men who demanded money, according to the report.

When told they didn't have any to give, the suspects punched and kicked the women then ran away when the women started yelling for help, according to the report.

Police said the women's faces were swollen and bloody when officers arrived. They were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.
