$2K worth of items stolen from vehicle

DAYTON —

More than $2,000 worth of items were reported stolen from a truck parked on Ludlow Street alongside the Dayton Grand Hotel.

The theft happened Friday night. According to a Dayton police report, the driver of the truck said his vehicle was too tall to fit inside the hotel’s parking garage and that’s why it was left on the street.

The man said he thought the vehicle was locked, but discovered the opposite was true when he got into it Saturday morning.

Missing items included an iPod, cowboy boots, a handgun, six-pack of Guinness beer and a switchblade.
