Staff Report
DAYTON, Ohio —
Police in Dayton said three people were taken to Miami Valley Hospital on Tuesday night after an apparent T-bone collision at Hoover and Shoop avenues.
An initial investigation showed that a mid-sized sedan with two people inside was northbound on Shoop and apparently ran a stop sign at the intersection and was struck on the driver’s side door by a flatbed truck headed east on Hoover, said Dayton police Sgt. Thomas.
The crash happened around 9 p.m., police said.
Both occupants of the car and the male truck driver were taken to the hospital suffering from injuries that were not believed to be life threatening, Thomas said.
The driver of the car likely will be given a traffic citation for running the stop sign, Thomas said.
The investigation into the accident continues as to whether drugs and/or alcohol were factors, he said.
The crash caused police to close the intersection for about an hour.
