DAYTON —
Two students and a bus driver were taken to hospitals Friday afternoon following a collision involving a school bus for Dayton Public Schools and another vehicle.
According to Dayton police, the bus driver will be cited for causing the accident. When asked about the consequences the driver might face, District Spokeswoman Jill Moberley said DPS follows the state requirements for anyone with a commercial drivers license and also the contract between the union and the district.
The name of the driver and details about how the accident occurred were not immediately available. The crash occurred at West Second Street and North Hedges Street at about 2:30 p.m., according to police.
The students transported from the scene attend Meadowdale school, which enrolls students Pre-K through eighth grade. Moberley and police said no one’s injuries were considered “life-threatening.”
“It could have been precautionary,” Moberley said of the transport. “I don’t have all the details.”
