BEAVERCREEK TWP., Greene County —

One man has been arrested in the aftermath of a wrong-way, head-on accident Tuesday night on Colonel Glenn Highway.

A woman driving the car that was hit by the wrong-way driver was taken to a hospital with injuries not believed to be serious, said Trooper Brad Huffman with the Ohio Highway Patrol post in Xenia.

Her car was struck at about 9 p.m. when the other driver, identified as a male, was headed east on Colonel Glenn in the wrong lane, Huffman said.

“Several other cars did swerve out of his way before he did strike the victim’s vehicle,” the trooper said.

“Alcohol is definitely a factor in this crash,” Huffman continued, noting that the man would be offered a breath test “and will probably be going to jail tonight.”

One of the vehicles in the crash appeared to be a minivan, the other a sedan.

At 10:35 p.m., traffic was returned to normal following the accident investigation and cleanup of the scene.
