BRADFORD, Ohio —

Deputies in Miami County said a 55-year-old man is being held in jail after an argument with his younger sister ended with him being arrested at gunpoint when he refused to put a knife down.

Stephen Babylon was expected to be charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing following the fracas at the house he and his sister share at 302 E. Elm St., Miami County sheriff's Deputy Ben Garbig told News Center 7.

Deputies were dispatched to the address around 8:20 p.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance, Garbig said. Deputies arrived and found Babylon holed up in the garage -- where he lives -- after he and his sister, believed to be in her 40s, argued at the house.

She lives in the house, Garbig said.

Babylon is accused of grabbing a long kitchen knife, retreating to the garage when deputies arrived on scene and refusing to come out, Garbig said.

"He had the knife and he wouldn't drop it," Garbig said, which prompted deputies to pull their service weapons and order the man to surrender peacefully.

A neighbor's call to the sheriff's office launched the dispatch to the address, said Garbig, who noted that deputies were still on scene late Tuesday trying to get to the root of what started the argument between siblings.
