Arrest made in robbery of Shell in St. Marys

ST. MARYS, Auglaize County —

A 42-year-old Wapakoneta man was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges accusing him of robbing a Shell gas station in St. Marys on Tuesday evening.

Glenn Tuttle Jr. was arrested at about 11:45 a.m. at 513 Catherine St., Wapakoneta, by St. Marys police with assistance from Wapakoneta police and Auglaize County sheriff’s deputies, St. Marys Police Chief Gregory Foxhoven said Thursday via information made available to News Center 7.

Tuttle was in the Auglaize County Correctional Facility on Thursday night on charges of felony aggravated robbery and misdemeanor theft.

The robbery occurred just before 6 p.m. Tuesday at the station, 1115 Celina Road. The robber approached the clerk and said he had a weapon. The clerk gave the suspect an unknown amount of money. The clerk was not injured, police said.

The suspect fled in a newer model, four-door, maroon truck, according to the police report.

He was wearing a blue and gold hooded sweatshirt and gray shorts. He was described as being just under 6-feet tall, with a medium build and facial hair.

A second male suspect was in the truck, but there was no description available.

There was no mention of that second suspect in the information released by the police department.
