Deputies in Miami County said they still have a lot of unanswered questions in the investigation of a pre-dawn fight Saturday morning near Troy.

Authorities said one person remains in jail while the victim remains hospitalized.

John C. Simpson, 47, of Troy was found lying in a ditch on County Road 25-A just north of Troy across from a bar. Deputies from the Miami County Sheriff's Office arrested Anthony D. York, 24, of Troy for assaulting Simpson after the men argued outside the bar.

Simpson suffered a fractured skull and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in serious condition.

Monday morning, in Miami County Municipal Court, York was arraigned on a charge of felonious assault. Judge Mel Kemmer, set York’s bond at $50,000.

Deputies said more charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
