Grenade found in house; bomb squad called

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

Police in Butler Township said a hand grenade was found in a house in the 3500 block of Pine Greene Drive just before 3 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said the hand grenade was found by a man who was remodeling the house after an elderly couple moved out.

The Dayton Bomb Squad was called to the scene to have its robot go into the garage and remove the grenade.

Authorities said the grenade will be moved to another location and detonated.

News Center 7 has a crew at the scene and will provide more information once it becomes available.
