Motorcycle-truck crash sends 1 to hospital

One person was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight after a crash involving a motorcycle today.

MIAMI TWP., Ohio —

One person was taken by CareFlight to an area hospital following a crash involving a truck and motorcycle.

Medics from Miami Township and a medical helicopter from CareFlight were sent to the intersection of South Union and Farmington roads at about 11 a.m. Friday after the vehicles collided.

A motorcycle traveling on Farmington Road ran a stop sign and collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of South Union road, according to Miami Twp. police.

The motorcyclist suffered severe injuries considered to be life threatening, and Miami Twp. police credited the CareFlight crew with saving the man’s life.

The driver of the pickup truck was also injured, but the severity of those injuries was not immediately available.

The intersection was shut down for several hours while the Miami Township Police Department investigated the crash.
