DAYTON, Ohio —
An international charity was in Dayton on Thursday morning to deliver aid to more than 400 Dayton-area families.
Feed The Children, a Kentucky Speedway corporate partner, teamed with Speedway Children’s Charities Kentucky Speedway Chapter to provide food to those in need. About 400 families were selected to be given aid.
The event took place at Dayton Public Schools' Welcome Stadium on South Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. The pre-selected families were able to drive up and get their boxes of goods. A line of cars filled the parking lot before 10 a.m. Thursday.
Organizers from the Community Action Partnership said each pre-approved family received 25 pounds of food and a box of personale items this year.
Speedway Children’s Charities says is aims to care for children in educational, financial, social and medical need to help them lead productive lives. For information visit www.kentucky.speedwaycharities.org.
