Staff Report
MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County —
An unlicensed juvenile driver is accused of hitting a child on a bicycle Thursday night and leaving the scene, but was apprehended a short time later at a nearby Meijer store.
The child on the bike, a boy believed to be 11 years old, was taken to a hospital for bumps and bruises on his legs after being hit at the Spring hill apartments in the 2900 block of Spring Falls Drive, Miami Twp. police Sgt. Matthew Nicley said.
The child was believed to have been hit by a PT Cruiser, whose driver headed north on Springboro Pike. The driver, identified as a female, was located at the Meijer on Ohio 741, Nicley said.
"We have reports that the driver was a little reckless coming into the complex and also leaving the complex," the sergeant said.
He said police anticipate pursuing at least a charge of fleeing the scene of an accident.
