SPRINGFIELD, Ohio —
Springfield police said they arrested a Clark County sheriff’s deputy Saturday afternoon and charged him with using weapons while intoxicated.
Police said Christopher Dent, 30, was parked inside a drive-thru at 502 South Yellow Springs Road for about 30 minutes and would not move.
Officers said Dent was intoxicated and his speech was slurred,. They said Dent was unable to stand or walk without stumbling. They also said that he was belligerent.
According to police, Dent was armed with a gun and also had ammunition and a magazine. Police added that they also removed some pepper spray they said was on Dent’s belt.
Ryan Bullard told police he had been driving the Chevrolet Tahoe with Dent as a passenger. Bullard said they began arguing . He said Dent pulled the keys from the ignition. Police said several witnesses confirmed Bullard’s statement.
Dent was booked into the Clark County Jail.
