Black ice a concern as temps drop overnight

By Breaking News Staff

Motorists should beware of black ice during the morning commute as temperatures dip into the 20s overnight, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek.

With temperatures in the 20s overnight, some refreezing will occur on the roadways. Wind chill values will be in the teens this morning.

Later today will feature a few flurries and some stubborn clouds as temperatures reach a high in the mid 30s.

“Melting will speed up on friday with sunny skies and highs in the low 40s,” Wirdzek said.

More sun will appear Friday as a high-pressure system works in. Highs will make it to the 40s, which is in line for this time of year.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 50s all weekend.
