A Dayton man with a history of drug and weapons offenses was arrested Wednesday evening with drugs in his possession outside a Dayton liquor store, according to police.

Tyrone A. Moore Jr., 22, could be charged with three counts of possession of drugs and one count of possession of criminal tools after police found marijuana, crack cocaine and heroin in the car he was riding in. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.

According to a Dayton Police incident report, Moore was the passenger in a Ford Focus that was stopped in the lot of Gina’s Party Store on Salem Avenue because it had expired plates.

Moore was “acting nervous and fidgeting,” according to the report, and he gave the officer the wrong Social Security Number several times.

When police removed him from the car, he was found to have a bag of marijuana in his pocket. A baggie containing crack cocaine and heroin was found on the floor near the passenger seat, as well as several digital scales, the report states.

Moore said the marijuana was his for personal use, but claimed the other drugs were not his. The driver of the vehicle said he didn’t know anything about any of the drugs. No charges have been filed against that driver, but his car was towed due to the the expired plates and his license being suspended.

He has prior felony convictions in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for cocaine possession and having a weapon while under disability.
