Couple charged with prostitution in Dayton

By Staff Report

DAYTON —

A married couple and their daughter have been arrested on charges of prostitution, police said.

Mark Napier, 53, was arrested Thursday afternoon at a hotel in Dayton. According to police, Napier could be charged with promoting prostitution because he was allegedly finding "Johns" -- the street name that refers to the customer in a sex-for-money transaction -- for his wife and daughter.

Lorena Napier, 51, his wife, and Dawn Cowan, 26, their daughter, were also arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution.

All three were released from the Montgomery County Jail on Friday evening.

Police caught the trio when an undercover officer responded to their ad on Craigslist.com.

“They agreed to have sex with an undercover detective for $40… mother and daughter,” police Sgt. Chris Fischer said.

When the trio arrived at the agreed upon hotel, they were arrested.

According to reports, police believe they were prostituting for cigarette money.

Both Mark and Lorena Napier have past convictions on prostitution charges.
