VANDALIA —

A flash-over fire at an industrial facility was contained by firefighters and did not harm anyone in the building.

The fire happened at Lipo Technologies, 830 Scholz Drive, around 8:30 a.m. today. A hazardous materials crew was called to assist with containing a flamable material that officials were concerned about.

That material did not catch fire, but if it had, would have been hazardous, according to a fire chief.

At 10:15 a.m. crews were still ventilating the building. Managers would be allowed back in to assess damages once ventilation was complete.

Fire officials said they also responded to a fire at the building on Memorial Day weekend in 2012.

Lipo Technologies is a supplier of encapsulation and microencapsulation services, according to its website.
