WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE —

One of the Doolittle Raiders who served as the navigator of Aircraft No. 9 has died, according to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

Tom Griffin, 96, most recently resided in Cincinnati. Griffin returned to battle in Europe on July 3, 1943 and was shot down and captured by Germany.

Griffin worked as an accountant.

There are four Doolittle Raiders still living.
