DP&L crews helping with NE storm cleanup

Crews from Dayton Power and Light are helping cleanup in the northeast after a rare October snow storm wreaked havoc.

DP&L sent 120 mutual assistance workers to the Lancaster and Allen Town areas of Pennsylvania. The workers left Sunday night and consist of linemen and tree trimmers.

The weekend storm killed at least 19 people and nearly two million are still without power. The storm hit Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Canada.

Hundreds of schools closed, giving youngsters one of the earliest snow days on record.

Many towns have postponed trick-or-treating to later in the week to give utility crews time to clear fallen branches and downed power lines.

One Massachusetts town received 32 inches of snow.
