Driver tells police he blacked out at wheel

The driver of the car at left told police he blacked out at the wheel. The driver of that car and the other driver were taken to a hospital after this collision on Keowee and First streets.

DAYTON —

Two people were taken to a hospital Tuesday night following a two-car collision on North Keowee and East First streets.

The driver of one of the cars told police he blacked out at the steering wheel, according to police at the scene.

Both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident to which police and rescue crews were dispatched at about 10:12 p.m., police said.

Traffic along northbound Keowee was shut down for a time because of the accident.
