DAYTON —

The driver wanted for fleeing from troopers following a high-speed chase through three different counties was arrested Thursday night.

Police arrested Roger Anthony Brassfield, 26, of Dayton, in the 1500 block of Smithville Road around 11 p.m.

Brassfield faces numerous traffic and drug charges following the chase, which started on Interstate 75 near Franklin Thursday morning.  The chase had speeds surpassing 95 miles per hour.  Brassfield led troopers on I-75, I-675, U.S. 35 and Route 48 around 5 a.m. Thursday, before coming to a stop between the Steve Whalen Boulevard and Smithville Road exits on U.S. 35 eastbound.

Both Brassfield and his passenger, Randall Dennis, jumped out of the vehicle they were driving once it came to a stop.  Dennis was detained at the scene and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, and Brassfield was on the loose until last night.

Brassfield is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
