Dryer blamed for fire in Butler Twp.

Staff Report

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

A dryer was the source of a fire that occurred at a home on Windy Stream this morning.

Fire crews responded shortly after 8 a.m. to 7500 Windy Stream, by the intersection with Crestridge Drive, and removed the dryer from the home to the driveway. A Butler Twp. fire official said the homeowner called 911 after smelling smoke coming from the laundry room.

She removed linens from the dryer, but the smell of smoke persisted.

No one was injured, but the laundry room and garage sustained some minor smoke damage.
