EATON, Preble County —

An 82-year-old man listed as missing has been located safe in Whitley County, Ind., northwest of Fort Wayne, more than two hours and 128 miles from his home in Eaton.

Harold Hart was pulled over by a deputy in Indiana who recognized the license plate number on Hart's silver Ford Taurus that was part of a missing adult alert issued earlier on Friday, Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson's office said Friday.

Hart is being returned home by family members, according to the sheriff's office.

Hart, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, was last seen Thursday morning driving to a bank. He was located early Friday afternoon.

He thought he was heading east and apparently got himself turned around to the west, according to Simpson's office.
