'Everything' taken from Dayton residence

Staff Report

DAYTON, Ohio —

One man told police he returned home on Preston Street Saturday morning and found virtually "everything" inside his residence was missing.

Officers responded to the burglary on the 2800 block of Preston around 3 a.m. on Saturday. The 43-year-old victim said that his house was broken into sometime between then and 3 p.m. the day before.

A police report obtained Saturday detailed many items that were stolen, including a couch and sofa set, microwave, desktop computer monitor and tower, stove and refrigerator. Two television sets -- one a 73-inch Mitsubishi flatscreen -- were also missing.

The victim said he found front and back doors open that had once been locked. It appeared that entry to the residence was made through a basement window facing east that had a plywood board covering it. The victim said that board was nailed to the siding outside to cover the window, which was already damaged.

Police have no suspects at this time.
