DAYTON —

Arson investigators are studying the remnants of a fire believed to have been set outside a vacant house Thursday afternoon on Hamilton Avenue.

Dayton fire crews were dispatched to 1 Hamilton Ave. at about 5:10 p.m. on a report of a possible structure fire with smoke showing.

A fire official told News Center 7 that the scene appears as though someone tried to set a bush on fire, and the flames spread to part of the front porch.

The two-story brick house is boarded up.

There was no immediate dollar estimate of damage done to the building.
