Fire destroys Auglaize Co. barn, hay, skid loader

AUGLAIZE COUNTY, Ohio —

Firefighters from Auglaize and Shelby counties were still on the scene of a barn fire at 10293 Hardin Pike Road early Sunday morning.  The fire was first reported just after 2 a.m. on the farm of Mark Russell.

"Destroyed was a 40 by 60 foot barn along with a quantity of  hay and a skid loader," said Botkins Fire Chief Pat Fullenkamp.

The cause of the fire, noted the Chief, is undetermined and still under investigation.

A damage estimate is yet to be tabulated.

Botkins firefighters received mutual aid from New Knoxville, Kettlersville and Anna fire departments. They were on the scene for about 5 hours.

There were no injuries.
