Staff Report

DAYTON, Ohio —

Firefighters were called early Tuesday morning to the city of Dayton Municipal Parking Garage at 101 West Third Street after two cars caught fire.

The fire happened on the seventh floor of the parking garage. News Center 7 learned that two city-owned vehicles caught fire.

According to fire officials, the original call came in as heavy smoke downtown. Firefighters used wind direction to deterimne where the smoke was coming from.

Firefighters blocked off the streets around the parking garage while they put out the flames. They said both vehicles are considered a total loss.

At this time, fire officials are trying to determine how the fire started. They said the fire was  not accidential, but they are trying to determine if it was mechanical or even intentional.

No one was injured in the fire.
