BUTLER TWP., Ohio —

Authorities said a semi trailer was destroyed by fire late Monday night near the Benchwood exit on northbound Interstate 75.

The driver told firefighters that he noticed smoke coming from the back of his trailer. He said he pulled over, detached the trailer from the cab and pulled forward.

Firefighters had to call in every available tanker to bring water to the scene because there were no hydrants along the highway.

Lt. Reed Rohr said, "No water supply, so we added several more engines for water source."

Tankers from Vandalia were also called to the scene.

The trailer was full of car parts that were destroyed by fire.

Emergency crews had to shut down two lanes of northbound I-75 while they brought the flames under control.

No one was injured in the fire.
