TROTWOOD, Ohio —

A recently condemded home on North Iona Avenue caught fire and the owner of the home was seen walking down the street a short time after the fire started, according to firefighters.

Emergency crews responded to the home at 32 North Iona Ave. around 6:30 a.m. Thursday after an off-duty firefighter saw flames inside the house.

When firefighters arrived on the scene the house was fully involved. No injuries were reported and the owner of the home was living in the condemded home, because he had no other place to live.

The house did not have gas or electrical running in it.

Fire crews said the fire is being considered suspicious and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
