Former Miami Co. judge running for Court of Appeals

TROY, Ohio —

Miami County attorney Jeffrey M. Welbaum has announced his candidacy for Judge of the Court of Appeals, Second Appellate District. 

Welbaum is a former Miami County prosecutor and Common Pleas Court judge and currently serves as Chief of the Criminal Justice Section of the Office of the Ohio Attorney General. 

Welbaum has practiced law for more than 34 years.

The Second District Court of Appeals decides cases from Montgomery, Clark, Miami, Greene, Darke, and Champaign counties.  Five judges make up the Court of Appeals.  Currently those judges are Mike Fain, Thomas J. Grady, Mary E. Donovan, Jeffrey E. Froelich, and Michael T. Hall.  

Another Miami County attorney, Jeffrey Slyman, is currently circulating petitions for the Court of Appeals.
