DAYTON, Ohio —

Police in Dayton said a man and a woman reported that they were attacked, beaten and robbed by a group of four teenagers.

The attack happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of McArthur Avenue, according to Dayton police records.

The man and woman, ages 46 and 36, reported that as they walked on the east side of McArthur near Sage Avenue they were approached by two males and two females, all appearing to be about 18 years old, according to records.

The victims told police that they thought the suspects were going to ask for a cigarette. Instead, the two black males attacked the male victim, who suffered a black and blue swollen-shut left eye, a scrape above his right eye and bleeding from the ear, according to records.

At the same time, the two black female suspects attacked the female victim, who suffered scrapes on her chin, elbow and right knee, according to records.

The victims told police that the suspects got away with their cell phones and $17 in cash. They said they could not identify their attackers.
