Gun-toting man carjacks vehicle; victim escapes

DAYTON —

A man had his vehicle stolen at gunpoint at the Shell Station, 4125 W. Third St, early Thursday morning.

According to Dayton police, the driver of the stolen vehicle was leaving the Shell station when a dark colored SUV pulled up beside him around 1 a.m. The driver of the SUV asked the victim if he wanted to purchase some marijuana.

Another person jumped out of the back of the SUV armed with a gun, stole the victim’s car, a white Buick Century, and sped away along with the dark SUV, police said.

Police found the white Buick Century empty about an hour and a half later on the corner of Geneva Road and Greenleaf Drive.

Police are still looking for the suspects and have yet to release details of their descriptions.

The victim escaped without injury.
